Every price follows a visit. Access, headroom, neighbouring structures and services decide what plant can physically reach the work, and none of that is visible on a drawing.

Ground first.
Getting the foundation right is not the beginning of a project. It decides the project.
Contractors, developers, engineers.
BG Piling & Construction is based at Djar in-Naħal in Rabat and works across Malta and Gozo. We take on foundations, retention and civil works as a specialist package, either directly for a developer or as a subcontractor to a main contractor.
Most of what we do sits below the finished floor level and is never seen again once the building is up. That is precisely why it has to be right the first time. There is no economical way to revisit a pile.

How we price, and why it holds
A foundation price is only as good as the ground information behind it. Many disputes on these islands start with a schedule priced off a thin investigation, followed by a claim when the rockhead turns out to sit two metres lower than assumed.
We would rather have the argument at tender stage. If the investigation does not support a firm price, we say which assumptions we have made and what would change them. That is less comfortable than a confident number, and it is considerably cheaper than the alternative.
Four commitments
In writing, with the assumptions stated. Where we are uncertain, we name the uncertainty rather than pricing around it quietly.
Ground engineering punishes improvisation. If conditions require a change, it goes back through the engineer before it happens on site.
Neighbouring structures are instrumented, with trigger levels agreed in advance and a named person responsible for acting on them.
